We have a new Private Pilot Certificate to celebrate today! Thomas "TJ" Bagnardi completed his check ride this morning for his Private Pilot Certificate while flying N827KS. His DPE on the check ride was Josh Donaldson, and his instructor is Will Kaiser.

We have a pilot's first solo flight to celebrate! On March 5th, 2025, Kangil Yi completed his first solo flight as a pilot flying N402ER. Kangil's flight instructor is Justin Manley. A pilot's first solo is the first achievement in becoming a pilot.

We have a really special accomplishment to brag about today! We're a flight school and all of our accomplishments to-date have been flight achievements, ratings and certificates. We also have a complete maintenance shop, and we are training apprentice A&P mechanics. Xavier Spranger has been associated with Leighnor Aircraft for years. He's mostly familiar to everyone who knows him as the "shop helper". He's also gotten certificates and ratings with us - the picture on this post is from his CFI check ride.
Today, Xavier completed the first step in becoming a fully certified A&P mechanic. That step is to keep a logbook of work performed in the shop and under supervision. We had the FAA on-site to review Xavier's logbook and approve him for the next step in the process - taking the written exams. For Xavier, this meant 30 months of relevant work experience had to be reviewed and verified.
Xavier is working through the steps, and once completed, will become a full certified A&P mechanic. Who we will gladly promote to the next level, as Xavier truthfully knows our fleet's aircraft as well as anybody in the shop.

Today, February 21st, 2025, Leighnor Aircraft is one step closer to receiving FAA Part 135 Certification to be able to provide air charter services. David Ayala-Lindeman, our chief instructor and pilot, passed his Part 135 check ride with the FAA at Deer Valley Airport. We're all super proud of David's accomplishment!!!

We have a first solo to celebrate this morning! On Sunday, February 9th, 2025, Will Leufkens, flying N85FF, completed his first solo flight as a student pilot. First solo is the first significant accomplishment in a pilot's aviation journey! Will's instructor is Justin Manley.

We have a new Instrument rated pilot to celebrate! On July 1st, Cole Ross completed his Instrument check ride flying N249K with DPE Josh Donaldson. Cole’s instructor is Brandon Cheung.
“Cole came over from another flight school because he wasn’t getting scheduled. Brandon took him on and they quickly worked together to get him ready for the check ride.”
